What Is Retained
Transaction records — retained for 7 years
Ugandan financial regulations require us to retain transaction records (payment amounts, dates, and anonymised counterparty references) for a minimum of 7 years after the transaction date, even after your account is deleted. These records are kept in an anonymised form where possible and are not used for any commercial purpose.
You have 30 days to change your mind
When you request deletion your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time it is paused — no money can move in or out — but nothing is erased. If you change your mind, just log back in and choose “Restore account”, and your access and balance return in full.
Your money is never lost
You don’t need to empty your wallet first. Any balance is held safely during the grace period and restored if you come back. An account that still holds funds or has open escrows is not permanently deleted until those are resolved — so you can always be helped.
After 30 days, deletion is permanent
Once the grace period ends and your account is permanently deleted, your personal data is anonymised and the account cannot be restored by anyone. Only the anonymised records required by law (see above) are kept.
Timeline
Requesting deletion immediately pauses your account and starts the 30-day grace period, during which you can restore it by logging back in.
After 30 days, personal data is permanently anonymised. Accounts that still hold funds or open escrows stay paused until those are resolved, rather than being deleted.
If your request requires identity verification, we may contact you at the registered email address before proceeding.
