Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your Piaxis account and personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data.

How to Request Deletion

You have two ways to delete your account:

Option 1 — In the App or Web
  1. Open the Piaxis app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Profile
  4. Scroll to Danger Zone
  5. Tap Delete Account
  6. Confirm with your PIN

Option 2 — Email Request

Send an email to us from the address registered on your account:

Include your registered phone number so we can verify your identity.

What Gets Deleted

Deleted within 30 days

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Profile photo and avatar
  • KYC/identity documents and verification media
  • Device tokens and session data
  • Saved payment methods
  • PIN and password (hashed credentials)
  • Push notification tokens

What Is Retained

Transaction records — retained for 7 years

Ugandan financial regulations require us to retain transaction records (payment amounts, dates, and anonymised counterparty references) for a minimum of 7 years after the transaction date, even after your account is deleted. These records are kept in an anonymised form where possible and are not used for any commercial purpose.

Deletion is permanent

Once your account is deleted, your wallet balance, escrow contracts, and group savings memberships cannot be recovered. Please ensure you have withdrawn all funds and settled any open escrows before requesting deletion.

Timeline

We will acknowledge your deletion request within 3 business days and complete the deletion of personal data within 30 days.

If your request requires identity verification, we may contact you at the registered email address before proceeding.
