These terms explain the rules that apply when you use Piaxis for payments, escrow, commerce, savings groups, and related business tools.
Last updated: March 13, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Piaxis, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who We Are
Piaxis Tech Ltd operates the Piaxis mobile app, website, and related payment and commerce services. Our principal contact address is Kampala, Uganda. You can reach us at app@gopiaxis.com.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and use only accounts registered in your own name or on behalf of an entity you are authorized to represent.
- You must be legally capable of entering a binding agreement under applicable law.
- You must keep your email, phone number, and identity information current.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account unless caused by our own fault.
- We may request identity or business verification before enabling some features.
4. Services Covered by These Terms
- Peer-to-peer transfers and payment requests
- Programmable escrow and conditional release flows
- Merchant storefronts, QR checkout, and cart/checkout tools
- Group savings and contribution features
- Business operations features such as branch, cashier, and order workflows
- Developer-facing APIs, webhooks, and integrations that are explicitly marked as live
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Piaxis for unlawful, abusive, or prohibited activity, including:
- Fraud, impersonation, money laundering, terrorism financing, or sanctions evasion
- Unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass security controls
- Transactions involving prohibited goods or restricted industries under our compliance rules
- Using another person’s identity, payment method, or account without authorization
- Uploading malware, spam, or abusive content into user, merchant, or developer workflows
6. Payments, Escrow, and Transaction Finality
Piaxis may facilitate payments and escrow instructions, but release timing, reversals, payout timing, and dispute outcomes may depend on transaction type, compliance checks, external providers, and evidence provided by the parties involved.
- Escrow funds may be held until the configured release conditions are met.
- We may delay, reject, reverse, or freeze transactions where required by law or risk controls.
- You are responsible for confirming recipient details and transaction instructions before submitting a payment.
- Not all payment methods, corridors, or settlement speeds are available to every user or region.
7. Fees and Pricing
Some Piaxis features may carry fees. Where fees apply, they will be shown in-product, in merchant/developer pricing materials, or in a separate agreement. Taxes, telecom charges, network fees, and partner charges may apply in addition to Piaxis fees.
8. Compliance, Monitoring, and Enforcement
Because this is a financial product, we may monitor usage, request further verification, apply transaction limits, and suspend features or accounts where necessary for security, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, or platform integrity.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- You violate these terms or any applicable law
- We detect suspicious, fraudulent, or high-risk activity
- We are required to do so by a regulator, court, or payment/network partner
- Your account information is materially false or incomplete
Termination does not remove your obligation to pay outstanding fees or resolve open disputes, chargebacks, or compliance reviews.
10. Intellectual Property
Piaxis, its software, branding, documentation, and service content are owned by or licensed to us. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service in accordance with these terms.
11. Disclaimers and Service Availability
Availability may be affected by banks, mobile money operators, network providers, verification systems, third-party infrastructure, and maintenance windows.
Except where prohibited by law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, availability in every country, or suitability for every use case.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Piaxis will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, business interruption, or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Changes to the Service or These Terms
We may modify the service or these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will update the date above and may notify you through the app, website, or email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, unless a mandatory local consumer protection law requires otherwise. Disputes should first be raised with our support team so we can try to resolve them.
